Pertamina begins fuel lifting via pipeline to Kertapati terminal

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina has recently launched the maiden lifting of its Pertamax fuel oil brand from the Refinery Unit III in Plaju, South Sumatra, via pipeline to the Kertapati fuel terminal, also located in the province.

Pertamina said in a statement obtained Wednesday that the transport of Pertamax fuel to the Kertapati terminal via pipeline, instead of vessels, will help reduce cost, avoid supply losses, and ensure better efficiency as well as flexibility as the company seeks to meet growing fuel demand in South Sumatra.

It added that the introduction of a new gantry system at Kertapati terminal last year will help ensure better safety in the delivery of the Pertamax fuel.
