Pertamina begins lubircant export to South Korea

State owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina on Monday began its maiden export of lubricant product to South Korea by shipping out as much as three containers of marine lubricant products to South Korea Heavy Industry as the buyer.

Pertamina?s Vice President for Lubricant Products, Supriyanto Dwi Hutomo told reporters that the inaugural export to South Korea is started with marine lubricant products, but quickly added that in the future there is possibility for the export to include products for the industrial and automotive markets.

The export to South Korea is part of Pertamina?s drive to expand its lubrican market overaseas. The company has already exported its lubcricant products to 15 countries.

At home, Pertamina controls about 60 percent of the domestic lubricant retail market. The company has also obtained a number of awards including the Top Brand Award 2010 for its success in marketing lubrican products in the domestic market. (godang)
