State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has started selling uncommitted LNG cargoes in the sport market, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.
The paper quoted Senior Vice President of Gas and Power at Pertamina, Djohardi Angga Kusumah as saying that there are a total of 28 LNG cargoes from the Bontang plant in East Kalimantan province which have been categorized as uncommitted.
He said that while Pertamina has offered the LNG cargoes to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, it has also started selling part of the uncommitted cargoes in the spot market. ?If it is not absorbed by PLN, we?ll sell them in the spot market. We have started selling a number of cargoes,? he said.
According to upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, aside from the 28 LNG cargoes from Bontang, there are an additional 4 LNG cargoes from Tangguh Plant in West Papua which are also uncommitted. Indonesia?s LNG production this year is projected at 278 cargoes, of which 163 are produced by Bontang plant, and the remainders from Tangguh plant.
