President of Pertamina, Baihaki Hakim said on Monday that the state-owned oil and gas company was currently being audited by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) following alleged foul play in a recent international tender process.

?BPK is currently making audit on West Seno. I think this is interesting because we (Pertamina and Unocal) think that there was nothing wrong with the tender. But the government has asked BPK to do some audit,? Baihaki told press on the sidelines of a hearing session between Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro and the House of Representatives commission VIII on mining and energy.

Several legislators had earlier asked questioned the recent tender of fabrication works for the West Seno oil fields operated by oil firm PT Unocal Indonesia in the Makassar Straits.

The tender was won by a consortium involving PT Petrosea, Hyundai, and Clough. But there has been accusation that the winning consortium did not offer the lowest price. Some legislators have even demanded Pertamina to repeat the tender process.(Godang)
