Indonesia?s state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina hopes to obtain certainty over its bid for a 10 percent stake in the West Qurna-1 oil field, one of the largest oil fields in Iraq, this month.

?Until now we have yet to receive the tender result from ExxonMobil ? We hope there will be official letter to Pertamina in September,? Director of Risk Management and Investment at Pertamina, Afdal Bahaudin told Petromindo.com Monday.

US oil and gas giant ExxonMobil has been trying to farm out its 60 percent stake in the giant West Qurna-1 field. Earlier report quoting sources said that China?s PetroChina is likely to get a 25 percent stake and Pertamina 10 percent stake, with ExxonMobil to retain its status as the operator, while Shell to maintain its existing 15 percent interest.
