State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina signed on Thursday a cooperation agreement with PT Bandarudara Internasional Jawa Barat (BIJB), a company owned by the West Java provincial administration, which is developing a new international airport in Kertajati, to build and operate a jet fuel refill depot at the province?s new airport.
Pertamina said in a statement that under the 30-year agreement, the company will build and operate the depot for the new airport, providing about 300 kilo liters per day of jet fuel.
Pertamina said that it will apply the hydrant refueling system at the new airport, which is expected to start operation in the first quarter of next year, through the use of underground pipeline from the depot to the parking stand at the apron. The system has also been applied at other international airports in the country including Soekarno Hatta, Ngurah Rai, Kuala Namu, and Juanda.
