Pertamina blames PLN on power shortage

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina blamed on Friday state-owned electricity firm PT PLN for the delay in the fuel supply to the latter?s power plants that resulted in the drop in power supply for the Java-Bali grid.
?PLN initially asked the fuel to be delivered on April 9 (Sunday). But, suddenly, they asked us to speed up the delivery, for which we are not prepared,? Pertamina?s spokesman Abadi Poernama said.
He noted however Pertamina had started delivering high-speed diesel (HSD) to the 840-MW Muara Tawar power plant in Bekasi, West Java on Friday. The power plant needs about 2,300 kiloliters of HSD every day.
Power supply on the Java-Bali grid fell sharply on Thursday after PLN?s power plants in Muara Tawar and Gresik failed to operate normally due to the lack of fuel and gas supplies, Investor Daily reported on Friday. The grid suffered a deficit of about 446 MW during the peak hours of the day. (Godang)
