Pertamina, BPPT sign cooperation

State owned oil and gas firm PT Petamina (Persero) signed on Monday a cooperation agreement with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) in oil, gas and renewable energy technology.

The agreement was signed by Pertamina?s President Director Dwi Soetjipto and Chairman of BPPT Unggul Priyanto at BPPT?s office in Jakarta.

The signing of the agreement came in line with Presidential Regulation No. 5/2006 on National Energy Policy, which targets the utilization of gas in the country to reach 30 percent and the utilization of new and renewable energies 17 percent in the national energy mix by 2025.

The agreement covers the assessment and application of technology for oil and gas; new and renewable energy as well as its necessary supporting system. The cooperation agreement will allow Pertamina and BPPT to jointly utilize their respective human resources, provide technical assistance, education and training, as well as utilize and apply the available research results.
