Pertamina builds electric vehicle charging station

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has built Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) as a pilot project for the development of electric car infrastructure.
"This station is a form of our support to the Minister of State Enterprises' request," Director of Marketing and Commercial Hanung Budya said in a statement.
The facility was assembled using equipments developed by Siemens in cooperation with the Agency for the Assessment and Implementation of Technology (BPPT).
The EVCS unit installed at the Pertamina office is the SIPLUS ECC8000 Electrical Vehicle Terminal that could charge electric vehicles for up to 4 hours.
"The car can then travel for 160km. The charging cost is about Rp40,000 for 4 hours. So electric vehicle is far cheaper than fuel-driven cars," Hanung said.
The facility is open to public. Until the end of January the service will be made available for free.
