Pertamina builds fuel storage terminal in Sambu Island

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it will build fuel storage and distribution center at Sambu Island in Riau Islands province with storage capacity of 300,000 kiloliters to support national fuel security.

The facilities that will be built in the island will include storage facility, three ports that can accommodate vessels with capacity of 100,000 dead weight tons (DWT) and draft with maximum of 18 meters and office building.

?The construction of the facility is targeted to be completed in 2013. The fuel terminal will help strengthen national fuel stock,? said Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina Mochamad Harun.

The terminal will store, blend and distribute fuel to the surrounding areas. The terminal will also process fuel owned by Pertamina Energy Services Pte ltd, a subsidiary of Pertamina. (godang/giok)
