Monday, December 20 2004 - 10:43 AM WIB

The consortium of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and Riau province-owned company PT Bumi Siak Pusako is targeting to produce around 35,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) from its Coastal Plain Pekanbaru (CPP) block next year, up from this year?s level of between 30,000 and 31,000 bpd.

?We planned to drill up to 31 new wells next year to achieve the target production of 35,000 barrels of oil per day,? the consortium operation manager Slamet Wibisono told reporters on Monday on the sidelines of certificate awarding ceremony.

CPP block is a mature field and it requires a proper thought in choosing secondary and tertiary recovery. The block?s production reached more than 70,000 bpd when it was operated by Caltex.

On Monday, the consortium received ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification through RW TUV, a German ISO certification organization, for its CPP block operation. (godang)
