The area is situated at its Tambun and Pondok Tengah fields, where Pertamina has been producing oil and gas.
M. Harun, public relation manager of Pertamina EP, said on Tuesday that oil production at Tambun, which once peaked at 12.000 barrels per day (bpd), has declined. Future production from Pondok Makmur is expected to increase Pertamina?s production in Bekasi area.
Oil production from Tambun is pipelined to the Balongan refinery in West Java through Tagal Gede, while its gas output is channeled to the Muara Karang power plant, also in Bekasi. Tambun is now supplying 15 mmcfd of gas to Muara Karang. The power plant also get gas supplies from Pondok Tengah at a rate of 20 mmcfd.
Pertamina has drilled five wells at Pondok Makmur field and made oil discovery in all the wells. It has been drilling the sixth well, PDM-06 since April this year. Once the drilling is completed, the firm will drill two other wells, that PDM-07 and Pondok Tengah Raya-A, Harun said. (Bernard)
