Pertamina cancels green diesel project

State oil and gas company PT. Pertamina (persero) said it had decided to cancel green diesel project due to high price of crude palm oil and lack of government support.
Pertamina processing director Suroso Atmomartoyo said on Monday that CPO current price of US$ 550 per tonne made it unfeasible to carry on with the project.
?Technically, it would be no problem to blend diesel with CPO at Pertamina?s refineries,? he said.
Suroso last month said that Pertamina is considering to work together with companies from Germany, Italy, US and Brazil to develop green diesel project in Indonesia.
Pertamina has also asked for incentive to develop green diesel project to the government, but thus far, the government had not responded. (Godang)
