State oil, gas company PT.Pertamina cancels plan to export excess kerosene and instead it would turn the fuel into aviation fuel to meet increasing domestic demand.
Processing Director Rukmi Hadihartini told Petromindo.Com that Pertamina?s refineries in Indonesia would be able to process 25,000 barrels per day of kerosene into aviation fuel next year. ?Cilacap refinery alone would be able to process 15,000 BPD,? she said.
Kerosene to LPG conversion program undertaken by the government and Pertamina to cut consumption of the heavily subsidized kerosene had been successful and now Pertamina had excess kerosene stock in its inventory.
Pertamina CEO earlier said that the company was contemplating kerosene export to China. (bernard)
