Pertamina carrying out EOR programs

Pertamina EP, an upstream unit of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, is carrying out EOR (enhanced oil recovery) program in a bid to revive the production of some old fields.
?Most of them are pilot projects,? Pertamina EP?s president director Salis S. Aprilian said on Wednesday.
The EOR program are being carried out at the following fields: Nglobo and Kawengan of the Cepu block (located in the border areas of Central Java and East Java), Rantau (North Sumatra) Bunyu (East Kalimantan), Limau (South Sumatra), Tanjung (South Kalimantan) and Jambi.
The firm mostly uses waterflooding technology in the program and plans to combine it with surfactant flooding technology at three locations, that is Limau, Tanjung and Jambi fields.
?Some of them have shown responses. The EOR fields now produce a combined 325 BOPD,? he said. (Bernard)
