Pertamina commences Donggi drilling campaign

State oil and gas company PT. Pertamina said on Friday it had commenced new drilling campaign in its Donggi block in Central Sulawesi.

?One offshore exploration well in Maleo prospect has been recently spudded as part of campaign to drill five wells in the prospect this year,? upstream director Bambang Nugroho said. Bambang said the first well is planned to be drilled to the depth of 1,400 meters.

He added that the drilling campaign is part of the company?s effort to speed up marketing and exploitation of the blocks? gas reserves.

Pertamina had been in talks with several oil companies about the possibility to develop the block to become Indonesia?s fourth LNG center.(godang)
