Pertamina completes drilling of 10 exploration wells

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it has completed the drilling of 10 exploration wells so far this year within its oil and gas fields, while six others are still being drilled, Pertamina?s Director for Upstream M. Husein said.

Husein said based on the test, Pondok Berkah well within Tambun field, West Java shows the best result, with projected oil production of up to 4,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and gas of 10 MMSCFD.

Pertamina plans to drill 24 exploration wells next year, more than this year, aiming at raising oil and gas reserves.

Separately, Syamsu Alam, Director of Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of Pertamina, said the company has drilled nine wells so far this year, located in Sumatra and Java. Of these, eight are "discovery wells" and one is a dry well.

He said in addition six exploration wells are being drilled. Of these, two wells located in South Sumatera are being tested.

Pertamina EP plans to drill 26 exploration wells next year, located in North Sumatera, South Sumatera, Java, Kalimantan and Papua. (godang)
