State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said Thursday it has completed the repair work at leaking fuel pipeline in Manonjaya District, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java.

With the completion of the repair work, the pipeline has resumed distribution of diesel fuel from the Lomanis fuel terminal to Tasikmalaya, the company said in a statement.

The aging pipeline suffered leaks Tuesday morning, prompting Pertamina to suspend the operation of the pipeline as the company moved to clean up the leakages to avoid damage to the local environment.

Pertamina said in the statement that based on observation on a radius of 500 meters, the leaks have not affected local water wells and fish ponds.
