Pertamina conducts FS on Arun NGL conversion into receiving terminal

State oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) said it has been assigned by the government to undertake feasibility study to turn part of the Arun LNG plant in Aceh into LNG receiving terminal.

VP Business Development and Commercial-Gas Johardi Angga Kusumah said that feasibility , which has been conducted since February this year will be completed in June. According to him, the FS will evaluate technical, commercial and market potential of the LNG receiving terminal.

?If the FS proves that the project is commercial, the project will be carried out,? he said. He, however, did not say if Pertamina will be given right to develop the project.

Arun NGL will cease operations in 2015 as current contract with LNG buyer will expire and gas supply from ExxonMobil?s gas fields will run out. (bernard)
