Pertamina cuts 12-kg LPG price

State owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has cut the price of LPG sold in 12-kg containers effective Sept. 16, 2015, following the drop in oil price.

The size of the price cut varies depending on the distance between the LPG bulk depots and supply points. In Jabodetabek (Jakarta and surrounding areas), the price has been cut by Rp 6,700 from Rp 141,000 to Rp 135,300 per container.

Across the country, the price cut ranges from Rp 6,400 and Rp 17,900 per container. The price at agents range from Rp 132,800 to Rp 157,400 per container.

12-kg LPG, which is mostly used for cooking at households, is sold at market price in the country. The government however provides subsidy for LPG sold in 3-kg containers which are mostly used by poor families and micro businesses.
