State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina has managed to further lower its fuel distribution losses tolerance level to 0.2 percent in February of this year, from 0.27-0.28 percent late last year.

Vice President for Corporate Communications Winda Pusponegoro said in a statement Saturday that the company aims to maintain the low loss tolerance level of 2 percent throughout the year that would generate efficiency worth about US$100 million.

She said that the 0.2 percent level was quite low compared to the world?s average of 0.5 percent.

Deploying better auto scheduling shipment technology and GPS system would help the company to meet this target, she added.
