Under its decree signed by the director of marketing and trade on January 18, 2007, Pertamina sets the prices of high-octane fuels, which vary in different regions.
New price for marketing unit III (Jakarta, Banten, West Java areas) for high-octane Pertamax is lowered to Rp 4,850 per liter from Rp 5,200 per liter. Pertamax Plus and Pertamina DEX are decreased to Rp 5,000 and Rp 5,600 per liter from Rp 5,350 and Rp 5,900 per liter, respectively.
The company also has cut price of Biopertamax, which was set at Rp 4,850 per liter from the previous Rp 5,200 per liter.
Pertamina said that the decision has been made following the declining price of the Mid Oil Platts Singapore (MOPS) index about 3.8 percent and 4.3 percent and the slight weakening of rupiah against US dollar.
Pertamina uses MOPS as benchmark to determine fuel prices every month. (godang)
