Pertamina delays 12 fields tender winners until March

State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina said it delayed the announcement of the winners of the tender for its oil and gas field, previously scheduled for February, until the next two weeks at the latest.

Pertamina's director for upstream division Sukusen Soemarinda, said in Jakarta Tuesday that the company had strived to complete the tender on schedule but, it turned out that tender was a long process that required more times. "The result of the tender is subject to evaluation. We will at least announce it in early March," he said.

According to Sukusen, the tender winner will get 15 percent split from Pertamina's share of 40 percent.

As many as 29 local and foreign oil and gas contractors participating in the tender was being evaluated. Out of the 14 oil and gas fields being tendered, 12 have attracted investors.

The 12 block are Batu Dulis, Ibul Tenggara, Tebat Agung, Perlak, Tanjung Tiga Timur, Sungai Lilin and Uno, Dos, Rayu area (South Sumatra), Sambidoyong (West Java), Wiriagar, Kamundan (Papua), Kendal, Suci (East Java).

Two of the areas that failed to draw bidder are Tanjung Barat in Jambi and Tebing in North Sumatra, he said. (godang)
