State oil and gas company PT Pertamina may delay scheduled maintenance of its Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) oil, gas block offshore West Java to keep gas supply to power plant owned by state electricity firm PLN flowing.
?ONWJ maintenance that is originally scheduled from November 16 to 23, most likely be pushed back to 19-26 December to allow PLN fix its distribution problems in greater Jakarta,? Ali Mundakir, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) spokesperson said on Monday. PHE is a unit of Pertamina that runs ONWJ block.
Ali said currently ONWJ supplies 220MMCFD of gas to PLN, fertilizer maker PT Pupuk Kujang and state gas distribution firm PGN.
PLN is currently suffering from power supply deficit due to troubles at its several transformers in Jakarta. PLN said that the repair of transformers will be completed in December. (godang/bernard)
