Pertamina developing three types of biodiesel

The Research and Development Directorate of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina is developing three types of biodiesel to provide alternatives to diesel oil.
The three fuels are called Biodiesel Euro 5, Algae to Oil and Diesel Emulsion, Pertamina said in a statement on Monday.
Eko Wahyu Laksmono, Vice President of Research and Development Directorate, said Biodiesel Euro 5 will be developed using palm oil, while Algae to Oil meeting the Euro 4 or 5 standard will be developed using algae. While Diesel Emulsion will be be developed using diesel, water and surfactant
Biodiesel Euro 5 has been tried at the Dumai refinery in Riau, while Diesel Emulsion has been tried on vehicles, which showed satisfactory results.
