Pertamina Director of Human Resources Development and General Affairs Waluyo has been suspended following his appointment as interim leader of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Secretary to State Enterprise Minister Said Didu said on Monday the measure was taken to prevent conflicts of interest.

"Under the existing regulations, top excutives and commissioners who hold state jobs must be suspended until their terms of duty expire," Didu explained

Waluyo's job at Pertamina will be taken over by another director, Didu added.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhyono has appointed three people, including Waluyo, as interim leaders of KPK after the police nabbed three leaders of the agency over corruption and murder cases. (denny)
