Pertamina and US energy firm Dynegy plans to build an LPG plant in South Sumatra with production capacity of 345,000 tons per annum, according to a Pertamina official.

According to Pertamina?s upstream director Iin Arifin Takhyan, Pertamina and Dynegy would set up a joint venture to build the plant.

?Pertamina would supply natural gas at a rate of 300 million standard cubic feet per day from its South Sumatra operations and Dynegy would market the LPG for export,? said Iin in an interview recently.

Iin estimated the plant would cost up to US$ 300 million.

Meanwhile, Pertamina upstream production manager Subarkah Kustowo told Petromindo.com on Monday that the plant construction was expected to commence this year and production was targeted to begin in 2004.(godang/alex)
