Pertamina ensures fuel supply during Christmas, New Year holidays

State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said it has secured sufficient stock of fuel oil and LPG in anticipation of rising demand during this year’s Christmas and New Year holidays.

Pertamina said in a statement Monday that national stock of gasoline now stands at 19-day of supply, gasoil at 16-day supply, jet fuel 15-day supply and LPG at 17-day supply. 

To support nationwide distribution of the fuel products, Pertamina has readied 116 fuel oil (or BBM) terminals, 23 LPG terminals, and 69 jet fuel depots spread across the country.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman said in the statement that the fuel stock has taken into the account the expected 5 percent increase in fuel oil demand and 3 percent increase in LPG demand during this year’s festivity season as compared to same period of last year.

“Pertamina has taken into account the increase in demand for BBM following the operations of new toll roads during the Christmas and New Year holidays such as the Jakarta-Cikampek (elevated), Palembang – Bakauheni and Balikpapan –Samarinda (toll roads),” ujar Fajriyah.

To better serve motorists during the period, Pertamina has also set up special or emergency fuel oil retail facilities in key traffic routes traditionally used by travelers returning to their hometowns for the holiday.  These are on top of the existing regular gasoline stations (or SPBUs) including 219 SPBUs at the Pantura (northern coastal route of Java) artery, 77 SPBUs at the Pansel (southern coastal route of Java), 72 SPBUs at the Java toll road, 14 SPBUs at the Sumatra toll road, and 1 SPBU at Kalimantan toll road.

“We’ll provide the best services for the public so that they can travel safely and peacefully to celebrate Christmas and New Year,” Fajriyah said.

Meanwhile, to ensure LPG distribution, Pertamina has also readied 638 LPG refill stations, 3,264 LPG agents, and 32,258 LPG emergency stations.

“With the plenty number of serving stations, Pertamina assures that LPG demand can be properly served during the Christmas and New Year (holiday),” Fajriyah said.

Motorists or the public requiring for information on location of SPBUs, or LPG agents, or if there are any obstacles during their travel, they can contact Pertamina Call Center 135, the company said.  The public can also download My Pertamina app.

Pertamina said the public can also now make cashless transaction by using the Link Aja app which is connected with the My Pertamina app with various promotional programs.
