Pertamina EP boss suspended

Pertamina EP President Director Salis S. Aprilian has been suspended due to a series of occupational accidents resulting from negligence that claimed 10 lives in the last six months, Tempo Interaktif reported on Thursday.
The latest accident killed a project manager in Tanjung Block in South Kalimantan, the report quoted a source.
Aprilian suspension was effective on Tuesday and will last one month.
Pertamina EP spokesman Mochamad Harun said the suspension was part of the management?s responsibility for the accidents and improvement measures to avoid the mistakes from recurring.
?This is the risk we have to take although we did not directly commit the mistakes,? Harun said.
He refused to unveil the reasons for Aprilian?s suspension, saying it was a personal matter.
Aprilian was not available for comments.(*)
