PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) is scheduled to hold this week a retender for the front end engineering and design (FEED) work of the Cendana gas field in the Cepu block, Central Java.
The company has decided to repeat the tender because of the 17 companies participated in the previous pre-qualification tender, only two passed.
?Of the 17 participants only two passed the pre-qualification. We?ll repeat the tender for the FEED. The tender announcement will be opened this week,? Development Director of PEPC, Amran Anwar told Petromindo.com Wednesday.
Amran said that the winning bidder for the FEED work of the Cendana gas field was expected to be announced in early 2014, which is expected to complete the FEED work in about nine months. Afterward, the EPC tender will be started, he said. ?We projected, the winning bidder for the EPC work could be determined in April 2015.?
The consortium of PEPC and Mobil Cepu Ltd, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Indonesia, expects the gas from the Cendana field to start flowing in early 2018.
?We?re currently in price negotiation with the Cikampek fertilizer manufacturer. They want 85 mmscfd of gas supply from Cendana. They plan to build a (new) fertilizer plant in Bojonegoro if they could get the gas supply,? Amran said.
Amran added that on other hand, there gas been gas demand from the Gas and Power Directorate of Pertamina, PEPC parent, to be flowed into the Pertamina gas pipeline. ?In fact, Pertamina is ready to buy the gas at a price in accordance with the Cendana POD, he said, without disclosing the price. Pertamina has made the request with the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.
