Pertamina EP completes its first offshore drilling program

Upstream company PT Pertamina EP (PEP) through its operating unit PEP Asset-4 has completed drilling of the POL-N2 well at the Poleng field, offshore East Java.
?Drilling of the POL-N2 well is the first offshore drilling of Pertamina EP,? said General Manager of PEP Asset 4, Didik Susilo in a statement obtained Thursday.
He added that PEP Asset 4 has also successfully drilled the onshore TPN-4 well at the Cepu field in Tuban Regency, East Java.
The successful drilling of the two wells has allowed PEP Asset 4 to exceed its oil production target this year of 12,255 bpd by about 20 percent, Didik said. ?Cumulative production as per November 11, 2017 is 14,744 bopd, and gas production reached 157.19 mmscfd,? he said.
He said that the drilling of the POL-N2 well in the Java Sea was completed in 47 days using the ENSCO Rig 67, reaching a depth of 8,696 feet. Production from the POL-N2 drilling exceeded the target of 744 bopd, and 1.07 mmscfd of gas.
Manager of Poleng Field, Charles P. Siallagan the POL-N2 well drilling program was completed sooner than target at a cost of US$11.6 million, lower than the $15.5 million budget.
Meanwhile, Manager of Cepu Field Heru Irianto said that drilling of the Tapen-4 well resulted in production of 250 bopd. He added that the drilling program, which was started on October 15, was completed sooner than target, reaching a depth of 2,022 meters, and also at a lower cost than budget.
He added that at the Tapen Structure, the company is proceeding with the drilling of the Tapen-5 well.
