Pertamina EP drilling 3 exploration wells

PT Pertamina EP, an upstream unit of state oil and gas PT Pertamina, is drilling three exploration wells JKKL #2, ASB#1, and CKR#2, in Rengasdengklok Block, Bekasi regency of West Java province.

"We start the drilling on the Cikarang#2 on June 12. The well is near to the industrial zone of Cikarang. We expect that next month we?ll know its results. Our plan is to drill it up to the depth of 1,100 meter," PT Pertamina Exploration Vice President Nanang S. Manaf told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Thursday.

But he did not elaborate on the other two wells, which would also be spudded.

In other parts of the block, PT Pertamina EP has produced oil and gas in Pondok Makmur, Tambun, and Pondok Tengah fields. The Pondok Makmur field holds reserves of about 14 million barrels of oil and 38 billion cubic feet of gas.

At present, Pondok Makmur field produced an average of 1,300 barrels of oil per day and 15 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). It is expected to increase to 1,750 barrels of oil per day this year, while gas production slightly lower at 13 mmscfd.

Oil production at Tambun, which once peaked at 12.000 barrels per day (bpd) tends to decline. It currently produces 7,000-8,000 bopd of oil and 58-60 mmscfd of gas. The field currently operates 65 production wells and 14 injection wells.
