Pertamina EP drilling programs hinge on arrival of rigs

The planned drilling of three separate wells by PT Pertamina EP in the fourth quarter of this year hinges on the arrival of rigs owned by PT Pertamina Drilling Service (PDSI).

?(Drilling of) The Randu Lembayung-1 well and Jati Rimba-1 well in West Java, and Azalea-1 well in Jambi awaits for the arrival of rigs owned by DSI,? Vice President for Exploration at Pertamina EP, Nanang S. Manaf told Petromindo.com Monday.

He acknowledged that the arrival of the rigs have affected the drilling schedule of the three wells.

?The rig for Randu Lembayung is still be utilized at the Cepu well development. Rig for Azalea is still in Benggala, while Rig for Jati Rimba will probably come from Bambu Besar,? Nanang explained.

He added that the rig for NKT-2 well in Cepu Block, in Central Java, was moved yesterday after a waiting of 12 days. ?The NKT-2 well will be the first to be spud, while the others have to wait although the locations are quite ready,? he said.

Meanwhile, the Benggala, West Suko and Bambu Besar-2 have just completed logging, and may take 2-3 days before drill steam test can start.
