The company said in a statement obtained Monday that the drilling program is part of efforts to maintain production of its assets despite the current drop in oil price.
Pertamina EP said the NR-45 well is targeted to produce 300 bopd.
The company deployed the Emsco-D2/PDSI/750HP rig in the drilling program that will last for 38 years, targeting a final depth of 1,650 mTVDSS/1,800 mMD.
The company said that the Limau field in July saw production declined to 6,626 bopd, about 80 percent of target, due to relatively higher losses. It added that the company was still investigating the causes of the losses.
Elsewhere, the company said that two previous drilling programs at Ogan A10/41well resulted in around 1,000 bopd of output, and at PMB P12TW/32 well produced 80 bopd of oil and 3.4 mmscfd of gas.
