Pertamina EP drills three wells to begin 2011 working program

The three oil wells include an exploration well in Kalijati village, Grobogan, Central Java and two exploitation wells in a village in Sangatta area, East Kalimantan and in a village in Tamiang regency in Aceh.
Pertamina said that the drilling of the exploration well in the Kalijati village was launched in a ceremonyt presided over by Pertamina EP president director Salis S. Aprilian, attended by the company?s other senior executives.
The company?s president director Salis said that the early start of the drilling works in the three oil wells indicated that the company?s commitment to carrying out drilling programs on schedule this year. The early start of the driling works was also made possible thanks to the support from oil and gas upstream sector regulator BPMIGAS, which approved the company's Work Program and Budget earlier than expected in November this year.
Up to December, 2010, Pertamina EP has found oil reserves of 57 million barrels and gas reserves of 1,353 million standard cubic feet (MMSCFD). This year, the company expects to increase oil production to 132,000 barrels per day from 130,200 bpd in 2010.
In 2011, Pertamina also expects to increase gas production to 1,095 MMSCFD from 1,054 in 2010. The oil and gas production reached 127,100 bpd and 1,043 MMSCFD, respectively in 2009. (giok)
