Pertamina EP eyeing 1,000 BPD production from Tiung Biru

PT Pertamina EP, an upstream arm of state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) has submitted put on production (POP) proposal to produce oil from its Tiung Biru discovery well onshore East Java.

Acting President Director Syamsu Alam told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that the company is currently waiting for approval from upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS.

Syamsu said the Tiung Biru field will be producing 250 BPD of oil in the first quarter of 2012 from one well and production will be increased to 1,000 BPD from three wells.

According to Syamsu, the company will drill two more wells in the area this year.

Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil, gas block jointly operated by Exxon Mobil Corp unit Mobil cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina.

Syamsu said that that Pertamina EP is engaged in unitization talks with Exxon Mobil over unitization of gas reserves within the two blocks, which will cover the Jambaran gas field which is operated by MCL and Tiung Biru gas field.

Syamsu said Pertamina EP is eyeing the unitized block?s operatorship and also intended to become gas offtaker. (bernard)
