The planned spudding of NKT-2 (North Kedungtuban) exploration well in Central Java faces a delay as the designated rig could not be relocated from Tiung Biru to the site, said an executive at PT Pertamina EP.
The spudding was scheduled for October 22 following rig-up activities that would take about 3 weeks to complete. But the rig relocation has been stranded for 10 days by local authorities, said VP for Exploration Nanang S. Manaf to petromindo.com.
It?s been 10 days now. Maybe tonight we could move the rig, Nanang said, without elaborating.
Tiung Biru field is located within PEP's Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by ExxonMobil Corp's unit Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina.
