Pertamina EP foils illegal tapping attempt

Six people allegedly engaged in illegal tapping of crude oil at Ogan Ilir in South Sumatra within PT Pertamina EP?s Adera Field area have been apprehended by a security team comprising of company security officials, and officers from the police and the military.
Pertamina EP said in a statement that a vessel, suspected of carrying between 5,000 and 8,000 liters of illegally tapped crude, has also been seized by the police during the raid. Meanwhile, six other people managed to escape.
Pertamina EP Public Relations Manager Muhammad Baron said that the company would continue to intensify security efforts to prevent and curb the die-hard illegal tapping activities.
