PT Pertamina EP, an upstream arm of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, is discussing with upstream authority BPMIGAS of a possibility to include Cendana field, operated by ExxonMobil, as part of integrated development concept of Tiung Biru and Jambaran field.
?True that the unitization of the development of Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields, may include Cendana field. Therefore, EMCL (Exxon Mobile Cepu Limited) may include the (Cendana) field in its plan of development,? Agus Amperianto, Manager for Public Relation of PEP told Petromindo.com.
Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by Exxon Mobil Corp unit Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina.
The Jambaran gas field is located within the Cepu Block, which is operated by MCL.
Pertamina EP has been in talks with Mobil Cepu Ltd, the operator of the Cepu block in East Java and Central Java over unitization of oil and gas reserves of the Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields.
The integration of the fields development is expected to make their development be more efficient.
The upstream authority has been encouraging operators to unitize development of oil and gas fields that share reservoir or are situated close to each other for efficiency purpose.
Agus said BPMIGAS expects Pertamina EP to amend its Tiung Biru plan of development (PoD). The concept of unitization program is prepared by Exxon Mobile Cepu Limited, while the development of the fields will be handled by Pertamina EP Cepu.
