Pertamina EP plans crackdown on illegal oil drillers in E. Java

PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to a crackdown on illegal oil drillers at old oil wells in Kadewan and Malo Districts, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java Province, which are part of its Asset Field 4 Cepu operation.

Pertamina EP Asset Field 4 Cepu Agus Amperiyanto was quoted by Antara as saying Monday that the company is still finalizing the plan with the local administration and security apparatus. He claimed that the local authorities supported the plan.

He said that the average production of aging wells in Kadewan alone is around 1,000 bpd. (*)
