The commitment for the extension of the gas supply contract was made during a meeting between the two companies? senior officials in Palembang in October, Pertamina EP said in release statement.
Pertamina EP said that although the production of the company?s existing gas wells in South Sumatra would decline in the next few years due the depletion of gas reserves, the company would do its best to be able to provide gas supply of at least at the same level of the current contract of 166 million standard cubic feet per day (mmcfd) to Pusri beginning 2012.
The company regretted a statement made by Pusri?s executive who said last Sunday that uncertainty regarding the extension of the gas supply contract could threaten the company?s future operation. (godang)
