Pertamina?s subsidiary for upstream operations PT Pertamina EP produced an average of 130,400 barrels per day (bpd) as of Sept. 30, this year, exceeding the target of 128,000 bpd set by upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS.

?The average production reached 130,400 bpd as of Sept. 30,? said Salis Aprilian, the president director of PT Pertamina EP. He said that the higher than expected production could be achieved due to a sharp increase in crude oil production in several fields.

However, he said, that the company?s gas production which reached 1,096 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) as of Sep. 30, was still below BPMIGAS? target of 1,040 MMSCFD.

?We cannot meet the target because several fields are still undergoing an annual turnaround, and a number of technical problems at TAC Kodeco and TAC Salamander,? he said, adding that the realization of the company?s capital expenditure plan was still about 50 percent because many of exploration activities were carried out at the year-end.
