An additional production testing at BN-24 well in Bunyu field operated by PT Pertamina EP (PEP) has resulted in oil production flow of 2,600 barrels of oil per day (boepd), a drilling result that PEP said would push up oil production from the field to 6,500 boepd.
In addition to oil, the drilling also produced associated gas amounting to around 3 million standard cubic feet per day, the company said in a statement. Up to 212 wells have been drilled at Bunyu field, 32 of which are oil producing wells.
On February 27, the upstream authority BPMIGAS called on PEP to increase production to meet its 2012 target of 135,000 bopd. PEP said it has been making efforts to ramp up production to meet the 2012 target by speeding up implementation of 2012 programs. The programs include accelerating the drilling of wells in Sukowati, Bunyu, Sanga-Sanga and and Limau fields.
