Pertamina EP pumps more oil in Java

Pertamina EP Region Jawa, a subsidiary of Pertamina EP, an upstream unit of state-owned oil, gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) is hoping that oil production at its existing wells in several areas in Java will increase significantly following the operation of four exploitation wells.

Pertamina EP?s acting director for operation Tony Harisman said trial production at the four wells reached 2,036 barrels per day (bpd), more than 300 percent higher compared to 650 bpd target set by oil and gas upstream sector regulator BPMIGAS.

The four wells are the SMG P11 well in Semanggi, Central Java, the CLU 09 well in North Cilamaya, Karawang , West Java, the RDG 50 well in Majalengka, West Java and the CMB 22 well in West Cemara, Indramayu, West Java.

Pertamina EP is currently drilling two more wells in Central and West Java.

Tony said that as of March 2011, Pertamina EP had reached 99.5 percent of its production target. (giok)
