Pertamina EP pushes exploration activities

PT Pertamina EP, the upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, has set a target for a combined 1,167 Km of seismic survey this year as part of exploration efforts to find new oil and gas reserves.

This was said by Pertamina President Director Dwi Soetjipto in a statement on Sunday. ?Through exploration activities, Pertamina plans seismic survey activities totaling 1,167 Km including in North Sumatra area for Garcinia and Seremban survey, South Sumatra area for Karbela and Selingsing survey, West Java area for Akasia Besar survey, East Java area for Lumajang survey, Kalimantan area for Tanjung and Bunyu survey, and Papua area for Kupalanda survey,? Dwi said during a site visit at Bunyu field in Bulungan, North Kalimantan on Saturday.

Dwi added that Pertamina EP has also set a target to drill nine exploration wells and five wildcat wells, and four delineation wells.

The exploration activities are projected to find new reserves of up to 90 mmboe of oil and gas reserves this year, comprising of 22 mmbo oil reserves, and 390 bscf gas reserves.
