PT Pertamina EP (PEP) said oil production at its Limau field in South Sumatra has risen to 5,102 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) as of Feb. 27, up from 3,658 BOPD recorded on Jan. 16.
The increase contributes to production growth at PEP Zone 4 at the start of 2026, the company said in a statement on Friday.
“The increase in production at Limau field reflects our continued efforts to support sustainable growth in national oil and gas output,” said Djudjuwanto, general manager of PEP Zone 4. “This positive performance contributes to strengthening national energy security.”
The higher output was supported by work on three wells, including the discovery of the TMB-026 well in the Tanjung Miring Barat structure, according to Reza Nur Ardianto, senior manager of subsurface development and planning at Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Zone 4.

Drilling of the TMB-026 well began on Jan. 22 and the well recorded an initial flow rate of 554 BOPD during testing on Feb. 16.
Additional output was also generated from well intervention work at the BEL-053 well in Muara Enim, South Sumatra. The well produced about 650 BOPD following a 13-day intervention carried out between Feb. 8 and Feb. 21.
PEP Zone 4 operates under Pertamina’s upstream subholding through PHR Regional Sumatra and manages several working areas, including the Prabumulih, Limau, Adera, Pendopo and Ramba fields, as well as the Ogan Komering and Raja Tempirai blocks.
