The upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas said a development well drilled by Pertamina EP has delivered initial output of 505 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 5.1 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.

SKK Migas Chairman Djoko Siswanto told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the ABB-145 development well, operated by Pertamina EP Asset 2 under PHR Region 1 Zona 4, was spudded on Jan. 31, 2026 and completed on March 1.

Production testing on the TAF-E1 layer at a depth interval of 1,827.25–1,828 metres measured depth (mMD) showed preliminary output of 505 BOPD and 5.1 MMSCFD, with zero water cut.

The well targets the Abab structure, located around 95 kilometres northwest of Palembang and surrounded by the Dewa, Raja and Air Hitam fields.

Djoko said the drilling, conducted between existing producing fields, confirmed the presence of hydrocarbons and forms part of the government’s “triple 100” programme aimed at boosting exploration and development. The zero water cut indicates high-quality reservoir performance, he added.

The primary target of the well was the TAF-E layer, with the TAF-D layer as an additional objective.

The well was drilled directionally (J-type) using Rig PDSI#05.2/OW760-M to a final depth of 1,930 mMD. Drilling and testing were completed in 30 days, two days longer than the 28-day plan.

Despite the slight delay, total spending reached only 89.06% of the original AFE budget approved by SKK Migas, Djoko said.

Further production testing will continue before the well is put on stream at an optimal rate to maintain reservoir quality and prevent a rapid production decline.
