Pertamina EP says difficult to meet output target set by parent

PT Pertamina EP said it would be difficult to achieve the 132,000 bopd production target for this year as set by its parent PT Pertamina. The company said that production currently stands at 122,000 bopd.

This was said by Pertamina EP Operational Director Beni Jaffilius Ibradi AD to Petromindo.com Thursday. ?It?s not been achieved. We?re trying to accelerate production to reduce the (production) gap,? he said, while adding that the production target set by the upstream oil and gas regulator was only 123,00 0 bopd.

Beni said that several of the company?s oil and gas fields have suffered production decline because some of them are already in aging condition, while others have been beset by production snags among others because the drilling success ratio was only 60 percent, and delay in drilling program due to various obstacles including land acquisition problem.

He said that oil and gas fields suffering from production decline include Jambi, Limau, Sukowati, Bunyu, Meruap, and Poleng.

Those enjoying higher production includes Ramba field, Lirik, Pendopo, Jatibarang, Tambun, Pondok Makmur, Cepu, and Sanga sanga.

Production in other fields were relatively stable, he said.
