Pertamina EP says E. Java gas reserves estimated at 1.5 Tcf

The firm came to the figures after drilling an exploration well at the Tiung Biru field and two exploration wells in the Jambaran field.
According to a document obtained by Petromindo.com, PT Pertarmina EP planned to drill a third exploration well called TBR-B in the Tiung Biru field in August, this year. Tiung Biru is an extension of the Jambaran field located near the Cepu block in East Java.
The Tiung Biru-Jambaran structure development program will start with an early production at the Tiung Biru structure with an initial production rate of 30 MMSCFD (gross), which will be channeled to the Java Gas Development Production Facility Project (PPGJ) expected in early 2013, and additional oil production of 2,000 BOPD.
According to preliminary study, the development of the Tiung Biru-Jambaran field will take about 43 months, with gas on stream estimated to begin in March 2014 and peak production to reach 300 MMSCFD (gross).
The development plan can only be executed if there is full support from oil and gas upstream authority BPMIGAS as well as related ministries including in terms of permit and approval of plan of development, approval of AFE and WP&B, land clearance process, and procurement and tender process.
An integration development of the Tiung Biru-Jambaran structure can be realized by taking advantage of the Semarang-Gresik pipeline, with the special rights held by Pertamina via Pertagas.
PT Pertamina EP has proposed to become the operator of the Tiung Biru-Jambaran structure, aiming to achieve the on-stream target within 43 months among others by accelerating the construction of the central processing plant from the normal required time of 45 months to 39 months.
When contacted by Petromindo.com on Tuesday, president director Salis Aprilian said that Pertamina EP had met with BPMIGAS several times, in which both agreed that the development of the Tiung Biru will be coordinated with the development of the Jambaran structure.
In January 2010, Salis said Tiung Biru will be jointly developed with Jambaran under a unitization scheme. (godang)
