Pertamina EP says oil production from eastern Indonesia rises

PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, said oil production from eastern Indonesian region (KTI) has risen to 10,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in early March 2012 from 9,880 bopd earlier this year.
The increase was contributed by the operation of two new wells, BN-18 and BN-24, in Bunyu Nibung oil field, Bulungan Regency, East Kalimantan. The Bunyu Nibung oil field is part of oil fields operated by the company in eastern Indonesia.
?We are pleased that oil production from Bunyu field has increased,? General Manager Pertamina EP for Eastern Indonesia region Satoto Agustono said in a media statement.
Oil production from Bunyu oil field alone currently stands at 6,500 bopd. Pertamina EP now targets to drive up oil production from Bunyu field to over 7,000 bopd.
For this year, Pertamina EP sets oil production target at 135,000 bopd.
